Construction is a multi-billion pound industry
Do you need professional photography for your case study?
Instead of using phone photos or paying a photographer to travel vast distances, why not hire a local professional photographer?
1 - A local photographer doesn’t have high travel expenses.
If you hire a local photographer, you pay them for their time on-site taking photos, not their travel time.
If your company has worked on a project far away, your usual photographer may quote you an eye-watering amount because of the time spent traveling and even an overnight stay.
2 -They can take photos at different times of the day.
Buildings and lighting look at their best at blue hour. The sky is dark blue, not black, just after sunset or before sunrise.
A local photographer can take photos during the day and night. You don’t have to pay them to wait for the light to change. The local photographer can make two separate visits.
3 - A local photographer adapt to changing weather.
A non-local photographer may have to plan their site visit days before. If the weather forecast was not accurate, the sky could be overcast, not blue.
The local photographer can try again, another day. So you receive the photographs you deserve. Most buildings look better with blue skies and sunshine as the latter brings out the colour.
4 - They can take photos at different time points.
A local photographer can take photos days, weeks or even months apart to show progress on the site.
5 - A local photographer has local knowledge.
If the photographer is from the area, they will have local knowledge. They will know the path of the sun, so they know when the building will look at its best.
The photographer will know viewpoints and angles of your building that someone from elsewhere wouldn’t.

6 - Reduce your carbon foot print

It is more sustainable and another way to reduce the carbon footprint of the project.
Most projects will employ construction workers from the local area to support the local economy and reduce emissions. So why not hire a local photographer as well.
