Here are a few construction photos of Agnes Husband House in Dundee.

During the construction of this office building, it was named site 6. In March 2019, it was renamed the Earl Grey Building after the former Earl Grey Dock. Workers filled in this dock during the construction of the Tay Road Bridge.

In March 2021, it was renamed yet again to Agnes Husband House after Miss Agnes Husband. She was born in 1852. In 1901, she was elected as one of the first two women of Dundee Council. In 1905 she was elected to the school board. Agnes fought hard to improve education and help children living in poverty by providing books, meals and nursery education.
An apt name for the building as Social Security Scotland has signed a 20-year lease. There is office space to employ up to 900 people.

The first part of the building’s steel frame sprouted up in April 2018.

Telescopic boom cranes lifted the sections and workers on longreach cherry pickers welded them into place.

Throughout April the steel frame began to take shape.

By the end of April, the steel framework took up most of the width of the site.

Note the gap on the corner on the right to allow steel girders to be lowered further down the structure.

By July, the steel framework was complete. They have installed mast climbers. They are platforms that can be moved up and down on masts fixed to the side of a building. Each platform uses two masts.

By September of 2018,  work had begun fitting the floor to ceiling windows on the upper floors.

By late September, they had finished most of the facade facing Dundee Railway Station. You can see the mast climbers in different positions.

By November, the facade facing the V&A Museum was complete. A crane had been erected.

About two-thirds of the back of the building has no windows as the original plan was to build a hotel beside it.

The lights are on, but nobody’s home. Passing the building after dark one evening, I noticed a security guard was setting off the motion-sensitive lights.

By May 2019, the exterior of the building is complete, with the main entrance just behind the traffic light on the left.

There are two retail units on the ground floor that have corner entrances.
