Developer Enterprise already has the option to develop site 2, as the bingo hall’s lease expires in the next few years. It makes sense to combine the two adjacent sites. The arena would have 3,000 seats or 4,500 people standing on the ground level and 5,500 seats on the upper levels.

Its capacity would be lower than the Hydro in Glasgow (13,000) and P&J Live in Aberdeen (15,000). However, it has a great central location in the city centre.

It would have extensive public transport links with many local buses stopping close by, Dundee Railway Station just across the road and even a direct bus link to Edinburgh Airport.

There had been plans to adapt the former cinema now bingo hall into a 6,375 capacity arena and develop the Yeaman Shore car park (site 2) into Studio Dundee. This was to be series of seven-storey buildings with retail units, a café, offices and apartments. However, work was not started on site 2 in the spring of 2019, and the “temporary” car park is still in use.
