LED Handrail Lighting

Here are a few photos of the LED Handrail Lighting between Broughty Ferry + Dundee.

LED Handrail Lighting

LED handrail lighting between Broughty Ferry + Dundee. The problem to provide lighting on a waterfront footpath/cycleway.

Option 1 – Conventional LED lighting columns  requiring holes to be dug and cables to be laid into the concrete infill under the footpath.

Option 2 – Fix cables and lighting columns to seawall when the tides allowed, a slow process.

Option 3 – Attach a stainless steel rail which incorporates LED lighting to the existing railing.

Not surprisingly Option 3 was chosen as it was the most cost effective not only for installation but also for maintenance/repair. As there are more lights, there is more redundancy. If one LED did fail, there would be a much smaller area in darkness than from a LED lighting column.
