Stanley Studios phase 1 is a 152 PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) in Dundee. It was built on the corner of Brown Street and Douglas Street in an industrial area close to the city centre and midway between Abertay and the University of Dundee. Aberdeen-based construction firm CHAP Group built this £19 million project. Construction started in May 2023 and it was ready for the 2024/25 academic year.

The site was a former hessian factory had lain empty for many years – 1st April 2023
Work begins on the foundations – 10th May 2023
Work begins on the steel framework of the building – 22nd June 2023
The framework almost complete with its distinctive saw tooth roof. The building next door was later demolished to make way for phase 2 – 6th July 2023
The summit of Dundee Law offered a great viewpoint of the site. You can see from this angle the framework isn’t quite complete – 15th July 2023
